I had this idea a couple of weeks ago and decided to finaly start working on it.
Basicly what im going to try to do is to extract all of the weapons, decos, npcs, etc.. from the game unreal into deus ex.
This might sound crazy but hey its worth a try.
A guy named atrey is also helping me out
I know that the guy who made tnag allready did unreal tournament weapons, but this is unreal, so dont bug me with that XD.
So far ive extracted:
-A Robot (deco)
-Razorjack(weapon, including ammo and projectile)

Atrey extracted the chainsaw( i have to look at the thing when i have the time)

Bugs:
-When a razorjack is placed in unrealEd and then the map is played, the weapon spazes out and dissapears.
-In 1st person, the razorjack is fliped(its probably cause of the yaw value)

Im going to leave the u. file here.

The reasons of the weapons not having reload animations is(obvious) cause they dont have animations.
We could do like the guy who made tnag. He assigned a few frames of the "weapon selecting" animation and loop it while the the weapon was reloading.
But anyway it might be better for us to have extra help, especially on modeling ( which i have 0 experience with XD)

I think we should do like this: fix bugs of existing content and then extract more content and fix it aswell.

o... i dunno, its a litle short on content and to be frank with all those bugs i dont think poor would accept it.
Also hes been very busy ( i sent him new stuff for the CmTNM.u last week and he still hasent added it yet :S)
And besides, i think for cagematch it would be great with npcs not more weapons but weapons still matter

Well since no one is posting here anymore, might aswell just tell some news about the mod.
My pc is busted ( it freezes most of time when the "Welcome" window pops up and sometimes when i can get past that ( i can only get it from not freezing when im playing DX)).
So i have to use Wotgreal and UCC to mod now on my laptop ( UnrealEd does not work on Windows 7)
Now about the mod, me and atrey have discussed that instead of doing the unreal stuff, we are going to start with UT stuff 1st.
Atrey has a working chainsaw ( animations, sounds, damage,etc..), more will come, including the gibs on the UT chars( this is a great replacement for the boring cubish like gibs from DX >_>)
Anyway just wanted to let u guys know that this project is not dead ;)
Edit: I forgot to mention this. Atrey is exporting the UT player skins.
It would be cool to get them into DX but it would be even more awsome if we could get them into the CageMatch mod.
Imagine Malcom doing a pelvic thrust when he kills you...

Hahah!!!

Yep, I am SO CLOSE to be done with the chainsaw.... like 96% done..

I am importing the characters (as you said) too... but the ONLY problem
is that the meshes show up in the editor, but not the actual game. lol However,
I am still working on it.

Yes, more weapons from UT besides chainsaw... Getting the sniper rifle, remaking the
code for Dual Wield Enforcers( <-- If this works its my favorite gun) Hmm what else...


I am exporting decorations also... I think we can use UT decos in cagematch and make
it look legitimately legit. lol

and by the way,, you CAN use UnrealEd on Windows 7... You just gotta download the missing DLLS.. works for me. :)

I just fixed it now, i downloaded the dll and i can use it now :D
But i cant do much on the unreal stuff because of 3 things:
1- Since i moved from my pc, i lost all my stuff, including the unreaI and unrealshare u's, so i have to install UT in this laptop but i dont think it will install it( the pc wont install dx as a CD so i had to torrent DX. Maybe i got to do it with UT :( )
2-I have to export most of the tnm chars to make a TNM SP match in cagematch, which is going to take a long time. And on top of that, i have to play tnm again because i have to play the WC storyline to get the rest of the chars.
3-Im doing a cinematic flyby map of Die's Fun Fair map, die is really excited about this so yeah :S
But dont worry i will find time to get on the UT stuff.
BTW since your here, if there is anything i can help with the UT mod, i will take a break from the stuff above and do it, u just got to tell me ;)

Why didn't u save the .u files? You can save the files through Linux even if Windows needs a reinstall

Ok maybe i didnt relay this info correctly.
My pc with the u files is busted so i had move to a laptop.
How could i save my files if i moved from a pc that was FREEZING to a laptop?
I cant even stay on the thing for at least 10 seconds without the thing freezing so i cant transfer the files to a USB drive for my laptop >_>
P.S I dont use linux

OK, Umm.... I just need someone to do UT Decos... Possibly Pickup items too... But if you do them.. be sure to use the same code...

But here's how you gotta do the coding...

first, compile the stuff WITHOUT the code in it.

when you load it up in unrealEd, paste the code in there and compile.

of course, your gonna get errors... what you do, is just "turn the code into deus ex code."

what I mean by this, is if theres an incorrect class, replace it with a deus ex class. etc
