You might actually be right Danny. People saying it looks like a walking hellion... but... there's already a flamethrower dude called Firebat.

I recall the medic attire that the Scientist wears in one of the final WoL missions comes to mind.

Looks like two combat shields from the marines on each arm.

Terran's don't need another medic, since they have two.

Maybe it's an improved firebat, given that its infantry.

Or it's a factory walker, then it could be something different.

Multiplayer Ben. They can easily remove medivac and make dropshop/medic. But that's also unlikely, as they plan to introduce one unit in Heart of the Swarm then replace in Legacy of the Void. Of course, that can change.

I would like to think that they would introduce enough units in heart of the swarm, and then legacy of the void, enough to make a enhanced edition of multiplayer, where you have access to the whole library of units.

Anyway, it's new unit in HoTS, is there specific evidence to suggest that it will be a component of multiplayer? It could just be a campaign only unit.

Or worse, put in multiplayer, then removed for balance.

Just for those wondering, the unit we're teasing in this image is planned to be a new multiplayer unit. Stay tuned for more mysterious pictures of new Heart of the Swarm multiplayer units!

yo dog we thought hellions would be too vunerable with blue flame nerf so we made them transform for extra defense on land

also impossible and silly, as they're just common vehicles (space humans own f1 cars) with a flamethrower put on it by Xzibit.

They've already said they might have too many units already in SC2. If you want the library you may as well make a modification (these exist)

If you cut the image in half it looks like a Dragoon lol

MOBILE PERDITION TURRET

Imagine this unit burrowing under the ground and popping up its flamethrower head when units get near.

Blizzard: "Due to popular demand we have brought back the lurker in a different shape, but gave it to terran instead"

Ok so two considerations for this unit.

If it was a hellion transformer, it would make sense because;

- They will want to bring in lurker aspect for Hydras.
- Extra defense against speed for a hellion is retarded, but they could give transformed hellions anti-air

I don't think they need another hellion/firebat.

How about a big suit equiped with the diamondback gun... and the gun itself is... on its back?

Better to derive concepts from what Terran would need

Why would they need a new heavy infantry or light walker?

What units are being introduced for zerg in HotS which would imba terran?

I think lurkers, but i dont know what would counter lurkers in a walker unit, unless they have detection

Because the reaper is bad.

Also lurker is the most popular demand, though it might see more uses in ZvP than ZvT due to forcefields and the more vunerable stalker in comparison to dragoons.

No one uses reaper?

It's got good anti-light and anti-building right?

Seems to do well in monobattles

People use reaper, but not much beyond harass or cheese builds in the past and present. It is a bad unit whose very concept is to get into bases and harass, everyone points at it to be the unit to go because they simply see it as useless. In its defense the reaper needs builds that focus on timing attacks to destroy critical early buildings, and again, that is harass.

Compare the reaper to a hellion, the hellion was one of the "firebat vulture" switcharoo designs and was built around the line area of effect damage and its fast speed to kite. People found out how to harass with it later. Reaper was designed to harass and can't do much other than it... plus the hellion is better.
