I have updated this mod due to some requests by Jon from DXMS.
There was a bug involving the timer not responding to the delay variable, the result of using a byte integer directly in the settimer command, without a typecast. Also, realtime changing of the timer is now available, not need to restart the map.
There are now MetaTags (for lack of better words?) that you insert into the text.
For example:
The current server time is now <time>.
becomes
The current server time is now 12:25PM.
at messagetime.
Commands include:
<time>
<day>
<month>
<year>
<curplayers> //returns the curremt amount of players on the server
<maxPlayers> //max players allowed by the server as set by admin.
<adminName> //returns the adminname as set in the server properties
<adminemail> //returns the adminemail as set in server properties
<servername> //returns the servername as set in server properties
multiple tags and repeated tags are supported within the same message, and lettercase doesn't matter.
Any other ideas for MetaTags would be appreciated.
Note: I am NOT renaming the various versions due to the fact that the mod is completely serverside and isn't downloaded. therefore, version conflicts should not be an issue. I WILL, tho, rename the zip archives, that of one has many versions, they can be told apart.
For coders:
I am thinking of adding a portion that makes a record of the highest scores, and when that person with the highest score kills, a message is broadcast to the p[layers.
IE Lenny and Bob are the only two on the server. Lenny has 5 kills, and Bob only two. Lenny Kills bob and message is sent. then bob kills larry until bob has more kills, then message is sent saying bob has newest high score. the same i want to do with streak.
The only thing, i don't know how to get the serveractor to realize that someone was killed. I tried an override in KilledBy, but that didn't work. should i just create MetaTags and have the message broadcast on a regular basis doing a check each broadcast?
